What do YOU DO the morning of the games?
Pick up a program, save the map, event locations are in the diagram. This helps ensure your buddy is where they’re supposed to be on time. Report to the bleachers, wait there and you will be assigned to a school.
You MUST stay with the athlete you’re assigned to, they DEPEND on you to get from one location to the next.
Have fun! Vendors will be selling food/treats and t-shirts, bring your money!
Check your Buddy’s ID Tag:
What events are they participating in?
Where are the events located?
Any special requirements/needs?
Allergies?
Medical Needs?
Restroom or Toileting Needs?
With a Medical - athletes will participate in two events only
Without a Medical – individuals participate in Special Arts only
Under 8 years: participate in the Young Athletes Program with Bridgestone (at one end of field at goal post)
What is my role as a buddy the day of spring games?
Be on time and ready to work!
Love and celebrate the athlete you are paired with.
Respect your buddy and make the day all about them!
Learn about your buddy’s needs – restroom, meds, etc.
IMPORTANT: Stay with your buddy all day.
Make sure they arrive at their scheduled event, make sure they have lunch, and make sure they are safe.
Keep an eye on where your buddy’s teacher is, in case you need help. Make a meeting point for later in the day.
If it’s hot outside, make sure your buddy stays hydrated
